New gallery addition it's been a while.

Sat Sep 5, 2009, 9:12 PM
Added a new piece to my gallery, which I'm pretty happy with, seeing it was a bit of a learning adventure in Zbrush and even making a photo comp background. I didn't really use ref just started out with a basic head mesh that i had previously modeled and just started playing around with it. Also all the head textures except the eyes (painted in photoshop) where hand painted in real time and didn't use any photo source and/or ref.

ps the dragon on the armor was also modeled and then projected to give the embossed look. I think i might have to start using tools like zbrush more often as it's actually a lot of fun. Just have to find more time.

Hey added some life drawings from our short life drawing course a couple of us(workmates) did a few weeks back now. Most of these were done in about 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 minutes. They came out alot better than i expected, alot more of my old drawing skills came back to me than i thought.

pen on a4 cartridge pad paper using continous line in our first lesson

Second lesson was Willow charcol on cartridge

Third was gouche on cartridge

Fourth was red oxide and white pastel on a4 cartridge pad paper

Life Drawing

Tue Mar 11, 2008, 2:24 AM
Well through work i have been doing some life drawing which i have found to be a breath of fresh air. The freedom of just picking up a piece of charcoal and not worrying about how it turns out and just enjoying the process of it has motivated me to finally do those abstracts i was talking about a year ago :).

I'm even thinking i should do some still life drawing in my spare time but well see how we go on that one. Any way i might put some of them up when i have some free time and when it's not 38 degrees. Damn global warming too hot it makes me just want to drink beer and veg.

I'm a Slacker

Sat Aug 4, 2007, 5:51 PM
Well those 7 months flew, i suppose time flies when you have to look after a stinky fat little blob that can be rather loud at times. Also been pretty slack i must say but i have done a bit of artwork but nothing really worth showing on d art or up to a showable state at least.

Well any way due to lack of solid blocks of time i'm thinking of taking up some oil painting again and doing some easy to create abstract pieces. As oils dry slow so i can do a bit here and there, when i have a spare hour or two. It will be nothing complicated but my goal is to enjoy it and not turn it into an work intensive piece that i will start and never finish like i normally do. :(

oh yeah i recently got onto face book and was surprised by how much liked it. So check it out i think it is a good way to keep in touch and see what your friends are upto without being intrusive.
